Pine Secure E-mail

The Pine Secure E-mail service provides an advanced yet easy to use e-mail infrastructure for organizations with between 1 and 1000 employees. The service provides numerous benefits, including spam filtering and virus scanning.

Although more and more organizations are outsourcing their e-mail service, the Pine Secure E-mail service provides much more than just the financial savings that can be realized when outsourcing your organization's e-mail service.

Even if outsourcing is not a strategic direction within your organization, you should still seriously consider the Pine Secure E-mail service for the following reasons:

Spam Filtering Using the management web interface, you can activate the Pine Spam Filter if you do not want (some of) your e-mail users to receive unsolicited commercial e-mail. Your e-mail users can also set their desired level of spam protection from their Webmail interface.
Virus Scanning All e-mail that is sent to your organization is scanned by two professional virus-scanning applications before it is delivered to the recipient.
When a virus is found in an e-mail that has been sent to your organization, the e-mail does not get delivered to the recipient. Instead, (depending on the settings you make in the administration interface) a notification is sent to recipient or the virus is just silently discarded . The e-mail notification contains a URL that the recipient can use to safely and securely view the e-mail on the internet.
The virus scanners also scan all outgoing e-mail. This ensures that your organization avoids embarrassment when an e-mail is accidentally sent out with a virus.
Auto Responder Every mailbox can have it's own auto-responder. With this functionality, you can thank your customers for sending an e-mail or inform them that you are out of the office
SSL Encryption The communication between the e-mail user and the e-mail server is secured.
Daily Backup Every night, a backup is taken of all e-mail that is stored on the servers. This is especially important for users of the IMAP or the Webmail functionality. IMAP saves a copy of all e-mail messages that the user has not yet deleted on the server. If the hard disk of the user's PC crashes or if the user's PC gets stolen, the user can simply use another PC with internet access to continue to working with his/her e-mail.
Disaster Recovery If a fire or a flood would damage the e-mail servers, the service will be available again within a few hours from Pine's second data center.
High-Speed Redundant Connectivity The servers on which the e-mail environment is hosted are connected to three separate internet backbones. Traffic is continuously routed so that it uses the faster of the two connections. If one of the two backbones becomes unavailable, all traffic is automatically routed through the remaining connection without causing any downtime.
E-mail Applications When your organization starts using the Pine Secure E-mail service, you and your colleagues can continue to use the e-mail application that you feel most comfortable with. E-mail applications like Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Qualcomm Eudora, and Netscape Mail are all supported by the Pine Secure E-mail service.
Webmail An e-mail application is not required, however. Employees can also access their e-mail from any workstation with a browser and internet access using the Webmail interface.
Administrator Interface You can maintain your organization's e-mail accounts with an easy-to-use administrator web interface without having to install any additional software. Users within the organization can also manage their own settings, within limits you can set from the administrator interface.
Management Reporting The administrator web interface also provides information regarding the usage of e-mail accounts within your organization.
Security Patching Pine checks all components of the e-mail infrastructure for security weaknesses before they are deployed. Furthermore, Pine continuously reviews the latest security patches for infrastructure components and applies them whenever they are required to maintain a secure e-mail environment.
No Technical Skills Required Management of your e-mail service is taken care of by Pine. This eliminates the need to retain and maintain the technical skills in-house to keep your e-mail service up and running.

The Pine Secure E-mail service costs 5.00 per e-mail account per calendar month. This includes 50 MB of free server storage space. Additional server storage space costs 0.10 per MB per calendar month.
