Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland Member
|
The request of a .nl-domain name cannot be submitted directly to the Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland (SIDN), but always needs to be submitted through a member of the SIDN. As a registered member of the SIDN, Pine is your most important link in the chain for requesting or changing a .nl-domain name. All requests, modification, payments, etc. take place through Pine. As of January 29, 2003 the new rules for .nl domain name registration (i.e. "Reglement voor registratie van .nl-domeinnamen") are effective. These rules differ in several ways from the rules that were applicable until that date. The registration of .nl-domain names is since January 29, 2003 available to everyone, company or private person, anywhere in the world. In general, the rules for registration have become less strict. To request the registration of a .nl-domain name, you will be asked to fill out and sign the SIDN registration contract. Pine will provide this contract to you along with the order form for this service. After you have entered the domain name that you want to register, this website will automatically check to see if this domain name is still available. This check is performed, because a domain name can only be issued once. The issuing takes place on a "first come, first serve" basis. Please note that if the domain name is still available at the moment this check is performed, this does not provide any assurance that it will still be available at the time the request is submitted. What counts is the moment that the request is submitted to Network Solutions or the SIDN. |
